Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Production (Electrode Department) is responsible for overseeing the daily production activities, ensuring optimal efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and minimizing downtime. The role involves coordinating with various departments like planning, quality, maintenance, and logistics to ensure smooth operations. The candidate must possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of electrode manufacturing, and the ability to drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure the production targets are achieved within the specified timeline.
- Coordinate with the planning team for raw material availability and order execution.
- Optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
Raw Material & Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and consumables.
- Coordinate with the procurement & planning team to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Implement measures to reduce material wastage and improve cost efficiency.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials following FIFO principles.
Quality Assurance & Process Optimization:
- Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and production SOPs.
- Work closely with the QC team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Continuously monitor and improve production processes to enhance efficiency.
- Minimize defects, rework, and rejection rates.
Machine Maintenance & Downtime Management:
- Work with the maintenance team to ensure regular preventive maintenance of machines.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to minimize downtime.
- Implement strategies to improve machine performance and longevity.
Manpower Management & Shift Supervision:
- Supervise and allocate tasks to machine operators and workers.
- Ensure a disciplined and safe working environment in the production area.
- Conduct on-the-job training for workers on production techniques and safety measures.
- Monitor workforce productivity and ensure adherence to shift schedules.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular safety training and audits to minimize workplace hazards.
- Implement and enforce proper handling procedures for hazardous materials.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production, downtime, material consumption, and quality reports.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Document process changes and improvements for reference.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of electrode manufacturing processes and machinery.
Experience in production planning and scheduling.
Hands-on expertise in process optimization and quality control.
Ability to analyze production data and implement improvements.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

🎓 Qualification: Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field.
📌 Experience: 5+ years in production management, preferably in the welding consumables or electrode manufacturing industry.
💡 Software Knowledge: ERP/SAP for production planning, MS Excel for data analysis.
